the man next to her
one of the four-leaf clovers
in her fast-food drink cup.
The man accepts it with some excitement,
places it in his breast pocket, smiling.
They spend several minutes laughing,
offering various quips.
When the bus pulls up,
the two find seats on
opposite ends of the bus.
